The European long-distance triathlon Irish age-groupers put on the list with Kona. Sunday 4 July 2027. 3.8 / 180 / 42.2 plus relays. Online entries for 2027 sold out in seconds. Late Entry Draw is open until 9 November 2026, 23:59 CET, with the draw on 11 November.

What to Expect

Canal swim, Franconian bike, marathon through the town and up Solarer Berg. Spectator density is the point. It is a full IRONMAN-distance day with a Challenge Family badge. July in Bavaria is hot. Irish athletes who get in treat it as the A-race of the year.

Who It's For

Long-distance triathletes with a slot or a draw entry. Relays. Not a first triathlon. If you do not have 2027 entry, watch the late draw, then 2028.

How to Enter

Online sold out. Late Entry Draw: challenge-roth.com, closes 9 November 2026 23:59 CET, drawn 11 November 2026. On-site registration for 2027 already happened in July 2026. No TI qualifying race gets you in. It is a Challenge entry, not a federation allocation.

Getting There

Fly Dublin to Nuremberg (NUE) or Munich plus train. Roth is a small town. Book accommodation the hour you get a start place. Bike check and expo are in the days before. Many Irish athletes stay in Roth, Büchenbach or Nuremberg.
