IRONMAN Lanzarote

Full IRONMAN on Lanzarote, Saturday 15 May 2027. 3.8 km ocean swim at Playa Grande, 180 km on volcanic roads, 42.2 km along the coast. 2027 is the first edition organised by The IRONMAN Group rather than Club La Santa. Club La Santa is still where Irish athletes spend the winter weeks. This is the hard European full, not the holiday 70.3.

Wind, heat, and climbing. The bike is the race. Kona slots are typically on the line. The swim is in the Atlantic at Puerto del Carmen, not a Mallorca bay. Canary Islands time is an hour behind mainland Spain.

ironman.com/races/im-lanzarote. Watch for general registration windows. Club La Santa still lists pre-race training weeks in May 2027 on its events calendar. IRONMAN 70.3 Lanzarote is gone (last raced 2023).

Fly Dublin to Lanzarote (ACE), often via a UK hub in shoulder season, sometimes direct. Puerto del Carmen for race week. Club La Santa in Tinajo for a training camp beforehand. Hire a bike that can handle crosswinds, or bring your own.

IRONMAN 70.3 Alcúdia is 8 May 2027 if you want a half the week before, on a different island. Challenge Roth is 4 July 2027, the other European full Irish athletes talk about. Club La Santa still runs camps through the winter and spring.
