MARNATON eDreams Cadaqués

The classic of the MARNATON eDreams cup, and the one Irish open water swimmers actually mean when they say they are doing a Marnaton. On 19 September 2026 you swim into Cadaqués from Cap de Creus, Port Lligat or Caials. Three adult distances plus a kids race. Boat start on the long course, village finish on Platja Gran.

The 6.5 km starts by boat at Cala Jugadora in Cap de Creus and finishes on Platja Gran in the village. The 4.5 km starts at Port Lligat, with Dalí's house on the shore. The 2.5 km is a rolling beach start at Caials. Water is Mediterranean in mid-September, typically high teens. Wetsuits are allowed. Feed stations are on the longer courses. Village briefing is on 18 September. The long course fills. If you only want one Marnaton, this is the one.

Enter at marnaton.com. Individual entries for Cadaqués are live. You pick a distance at entry. The cup scoring is optional. You can race this one race and ignore the rest of the series. 2027 Copa dates are not published yet.

Fly Dublin or Cork to Barcelona (about 2 hours) then 2.5 hours by hire car or bus via Figueres. Girona airport is closer when Ryanair is flying it. Cadaqués is small. Book a room in the village or nearby Roses. The 6.5 km start is a boat transfer from the village on race morning.

Ibiza (10 October) closes the 2026 MARNATON cup. Oceanman Ibiza is the following weekend if you want a second swim on the island. BEST Fest Mallorca in May 2027 is the other big Irish open water week in Spain.
